Programs and services are free and plentiful at the library. Enjoy monthly art displays in the gallery and display cases. Come yourself and bring the family and friends to programs offered daily for all ages. Programs and services for the 2003/2004 season featured preschool story hours, after school programs, American Red Cross Babysitting, VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance), concerts and sing-alongs and family programs (magic, puppet, and animal shows, kite making, origami, to name a few). Adults enjoyed entertaining and informative programs on such topics as NASCAR, gardening, fishing and health issues. Author visits and concerts round out the library programming schedule. The South Jersey Environmental Information Center is located within the library. The center provides environmental information in books, videos, government documents, specialized databases and periodicals. The library would not be what it is today without the help of dedicated volunteers who are members of an organization call Friends of the West Deptford Library. The Friends support the library through various activities. Their mission is to encourage maximum usage of the library´s resources and services. Included in their regular activities are a Book Discussion Group and a Used Book Sale. The Friends meet the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 pm in the library´s meeting room.
