Music Takes Root at the Library

Come and share in the music at West Deptford Free Public Library during the New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music exhibit from April 26 through June 6. This exhibit has been made possible in West Deptford by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities. New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music is part of Museum on Main Street, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and State Humanities Councils nationwide. Support for Museum on Main Street has been provided by the United States Congress.

This amazing exhibit focuses on a variety of American roots music: sacred songs, country music, blues, ethnic music, roots revival music, and music of political or social issues. There will be displays of instruments used in making roots music, RCA Victor memorabilia, photographs of local musicians will be viewable through June 21, 2011.
